Dr. Mikhail Nikitsky, a specialist in urology and surgery, warns of the possibility of congenital kidney diseases in children that do not show symptoms

According to him, the absence of symptoms in a child does not necessarily mean they are healthy, as many serious illnesses can remain asymptomatic for a long time and only manifest in later stages. Congenital kidney and urinary tract diseases, such as hydronephrosis (literally, water inside the kidney) or reflux, are particularly common problems, and overlooking even one diagnosis can lead to serious consequences, including kidney loss.

The doctor confirms that the child may appear active and feel healthy despite having an illness in its early stages, so it is important to maintain regular check-ups, especially at an early age, as many problems can be diagnosed, including developmental disabilities or conditions such as undescended testicles, and treated without surgery if immediate intervention is provided.

According to him, parents often seek medical attention too late, when surgery becomes unavoidable, even though prevention could spare the child difficult treatment and psychological stress. Therefore, early diagnosis remains essential for maintaining health and reducing the risk of serious complications.

Dr. Artur Bogatyrev, a urologist, points out that there are hidden symptoms of kidney disease, and they can appear in different ways - difficulty urinating, swelling, back pain, loss of appetite, blood in the urine, and fluctuations in temperature and blood pressure.

According to him, congenital diseases can appear immediately after birth or later. Acute kidney failure is most often diagnosed in children under the age of two.
