Ebola in the DRC: the number of cases has now risen to 808, with 192 deaths

The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo has now risen to 808, including 192 deaths.


This latest update was released Monday by the Congolese Ministry of Health. Twenty-six new confirmed cases and 11 deaths were reported Sunday, bringing the case fatality rate to 23.8%, according to situation report No. 31 on the Ebola virus disease epidemic.


In total, 363 patients were in isolation on Sunday, 48 patients had recovered since the start of the epidemic.

The response continues in the three affected provinces: Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu. The epidemic, caused by the Ebola Bundibugyo virus, was officially declared on May 15.
