A number of members of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives conducted a working visit to the 081/Dhirotsaha Jaya (DSJ) Military Command, headquartered in Madiun City, East Java, to encourage improvements in the quality of implementation of territorial unit duties within the local Korem area.
Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Abdul Halim Iskandar, in Madiun said the visit was to objectively absorb aspirations regarding the real conditions of soldiers in the field.
"From the results of the meeting, several key aspects were deemed crucial and need to be immediately followed up with the central government to improve territorial duties," he said.
Aspects that are being highlighted include the urgency of fulfilling troop mobility facilities.
He emphasized that soldier readiness must be supported by adequate facilities and that his party is committed to fighting for budget allocation in the APBN together with relevant working partners.
Another aspect is the availability of residential facilities which are considered to require immediate policy intervention.
