The Jaya Raya Club emerged as the overall champion of the 2026 Yonex-Sunrise Doubles Special Championships Presented by Candra Wijaya after collecting six championship titles in the doubles specialist tournament that concluded in Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday.
At the event which took place at the Daihatsu Yonex-Sunrise Candra Wijaya International Badminton Center Hall, June 10-13, Jaya Raya was superior to Djarum Kudus which won four titles, while one other title went to Taqi Arena Badminton Academy.
"Victory is the beginning of maintaining achievements and the beginning of achieving success in the future," said Indonesian badminton legend Candra Wijaya in a written statement on Saturday.
The 2000 Sydney Olympics gold medalist, along with Tony Gunawan, said the tournament, which is entering its 14th edition, is being held as a means of training matches and also to identify young players in the doubles sector.
According to Candra, doubles has long been one of Indonesia's main strengths on the world stage, so the regeneration process must continue through ongoing competitions.
"I'm doing all this to ensure the regeneration of the doubles event continues, and to restore Indonesian badminton's global prestige. Hopefully, this tournament will continue next year with support from many parties, including Indonesian clubs," said Candra.
