Morocco striker Ismail Saïbari continued his impressive form by scoring the opening goal for the Atlas Lions against Scotland in the second round of the 2026 World Cup group stage.

El-Sibari had opened his World Cup scoring account during the match against Brazil in the first round, before scoring again against Scotland in the second round to continue his perfect start with the Atlas Lions.

The global network "Tribuna" stated that Sebari continued his remarkable international performance as he joined a distinguished list of players in the World Cup.

Sibari became only the second African player to score in his first two World Cup matches, equaling Mohamed Salah's achievement.

Mohamed Salah had achieved the same feat during the 2018 World Cup when he scored against Russia in his first appearance in the tournament before netting against Saudi Arabia in the following match.

Al-Sibari is now on the verge of a new historic opportunity, as he could become the first African player ever to score in his first three World Cup matches if he manages to find the net against Haiti in the next round of the group stage.
