Real Madrid have reached a final agreement with Portuguese star Bernardo Silva to join their ranks during the current summer transfer window, in the first move by "Los Blancos" under their new coach Jose Mourinho.
Silva's contract with his current team, Manchester City, ends on June 30. The player was looking for a new destination and was linked with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, before finalizing his move to Real Madrid.
Global transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Real Madrid's management has finalized its agreement with the Portuguese playmaker, thus ending the fierce competition between Spanish clubs to sign the player.
In this regard, Romano wrote via his official account on the "X" platform: "The deal is done.. Bernardo Silva will move to Real Madrid.. The agreement has been reached and the contract has been approved!"
The Italian expert added details of the deal, saying: "Silva's contract with Real Madrid will be for two years with the option to extend for an additional year. Real Madrid started negotiations only 36 hours ago, and succeeded in finalizing them immediately and decisively."
New manager Jose Mourinho, "The Special One," played a pivotal role in completing this deal, as Romano confirmed that "Mourinho was very keen to sign Silva, and the player agreed to fulfill his coach's request."
It is worth noting that Real Madrid officially announced yesterday, Thursday, the return of Jose Mourinho to lead the first team for a second term, with a contract that extends for three years.
This is the first deal that the Portuguese coach has succeeded in signing since his return, noting that he previously led "Real Madrid" between 2010 and 2013.
