Panama coach calls 0-1 result against Ghana a painful defeat

Panama national football team coach Thomas Christiansen said the 0-1 result against Ghana in the 2026 World Cup Group L match at BMO Field Stadium in Toronto, Canada, on Thursday, was a painful defeat.

According to him, Orlando Mosquera and his friends should have achieved better results after appearing dominant over their opponents.

"We played very well in the first half and were able to control the game against Ghana," Christiansen said after the match on the FIFA website.

He explained that his team showed promising performance throughout the match, but lost focus at a crucial moment which Ghana eventually capitalized on to score the winning goal.

However, he urged all players to keep their heads up and look ahead to the next two matches.
