The Crime and Violence Sub-Directorate Team of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police succeeded in arresting a student with the initials ARM (20) who was the perpetrator of a violent theft using a lighter weapon resembling a pistol at a minimarket.
Head of the Sub-Directorate of Jatanras, Directorate of General Crimes of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, AKBP Abdul Rahim, in his statement , confirmed the arrest of the alleged executor of the robbery who was on the run after carrying out his action.
"Yes, the operational team from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Criminal Investigation Unit has successfully arrested the main perpetrator of the minimarket robbery in Bekasi City. The perpetrator is a student and acted as the sole executor," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Unit 2 of the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Reza Arif Hadafi, explained that the suspect's arrest was based on police report number issued shortly after the incident. Officers moved quickly to conduct a field investigation and digital tracking.
"The suspect ARM was finally arrested without resistance by officers at his hiding place, Kampung Cibeber, Simpangan Village, Cikarang Utara District, Bekasi Regency, West Java," said Reza.
He outlined the chronology of the crime, which occurred. The perpetrator, acting alone, wearing a mask, hat, and hoodie, entered the Alfamart store on Jalan Surya Raya.
"The perpetrator immediately went to the cashier's desk and pointed an object resembling a Pietro Beretta pistol from under his shirt at two employee witnesses who were on duty, namely NA and TI. The perpetrator then led the two victims to the second floor to the safe room," said Reza.
The victim was then forced to open the safe and place Rp 11.6 million in cash into a black plastic bag. The perpetrator then locked the two employees inside the safe from the outside.
