Rano is grateful that  is ranked 53rd among the World's Best Cities

 




  Deputy Governor of DKI  Rano Karno expressed his gratitude and optimism for the city's development after  successfully entered the ranks of the 53 best cities in the world, even surpassing several major world cities such as Washington DC.

"I'm very grateful to have received news from the Governor that  is ranked 53rd in the best cities. He even said Washington, DC, was outranked. This is a spur to action and a boost to our spirits," Rano said on the sidelines of the Bung Karno event.

According to him, one of the main factors boosting Jakarta's position on the international stage is the intensity of various collaborative activities and events.

​With this latest achievement, the DKI  Provincial Government is optimistic that  Global Cities Index ranking will experience a significant jump from its previous position.

​Through this positive trend, he is optimistic that  ranking in the Global Cities Index will soon jump significantly from its previous position of 71st.

"If it was 71 yesterday, it will jump. I'm very confident that Jakarta's Global City Index will rise soon, perhaps reaching 65 or so. Hopefully, that's not an ambitious target, but God willing, it's achievable," said Rano.

DKI  has successfully ranked 53rd in the world in the list of the 100 Best Cities in the World  2026 released by the Brussels, Belgium consulting firm, Resonance Consultancy.

According to a report from Resonance Consultancy, it even surpassed Washington, D.C., in the United States, which was ranked 57th. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates ranked 86th.
