The Provincial Government enlivened Bung Karno Month through a series of youth festivals and a full-day exhibition of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
"Today's activities actually start in the morning. The morning activities are from the Youth and Sports Agency, then in the afternoon we add festival activities in the framework of Bung Karno Month," said Deputy Governor of DKI Rano Karno on the sidelines of the Bung Karno Festival at Proklamasi Park.
Rano explained that the festival presents various educational and entertainment activities for the community, ranging from morning exercise together, an MSME market, children's play areas, to a fashion show.
The series of events, which will last until the evening, will also conclude with an entertainment stage featuring national music groups such as J-Rocks, Souljah, and local dangdut singers.
"The point is that today, in order to welcome Bung Karno Month, we are holding activities for the community," he said.
The Provincial Government officially opened the 2026 Bung Karno Festival as an effort to encourage all elements of the community, especially the younger generation, to preserve historical memory and revive the nation's cultural values.
The event, which was held to commemorate Bung Karno Month, was attended directly by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia and daughter of the Proclaimer, Megawati Soekarnoputri, the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI , Pramono Anung and Rano Karno.
