Vivo has confirmed that its new foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 6, will be the first smartphone to use the special Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset .
According to Vivo and MediaTek have been building a special chipset for the foldable device for almost two years.
Vivo said that the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition is designed to improve multitasking capabilities , multi-thread processing , and the use of many applications simultaneously.
The company also claims that the new chipset has been optimized to support the use of large screens as well as running various artificial intelligence (AI) features on the device.
According to Vivo, the chipset's AI processing performance has increased by up to 111 percent compared to the previous generation, while its power consumption has been reduced by around 56 percent.
With these improvements, the Vivo X Fold 6 is capable of running more complex AI features without excessive battery drain.
