Indonesian nature climbers are no less competitive in the world

The head of the Indonesia Bigwall Expedition , Freden Sembiring, assessed that the success of the Red and White Europe Bigwall Expedition 2026 team in conquering the Troll Wall in Norway is proof that Indonesian nature climbers are not less competitive than European or world climbers.

He stated that this success was an important achievement for the development of Indonesian rock climbing, while also showing that limitations are not a reason to stop pursuing challenges at the world level.

"I am deeply moved and proud of the efforts of my fellow expeditioners who are currently undertaking the 2026 Red and White Europe Bigwall Expedition," Freden said when contacted.

According to him, the expedition's achievements prove that Indonesian climbers are capable of taking on challenges that have long been synonymous with the abilities of climbers from Europe or the world.

He explained that this success also serves as proof that the limitations faced by Indonesian climbers can actually be a catalyst to be more courageous in facing new terrain and challenges.

Besides proving the abilities of Indonesian climbers, the expedition is an effort to continue the dreams of the founders of Indonesian rock climbing who have laid the foundations for the development of the sport in the country.
