These achievements include accelerating post-disaster recovery, population administration, inflation control, and support for various national priority programs in the regions.
One of the Ministry of Home Affairs' concrete efforts is to provide outreach and public administration services in affected areas, both in Sumatra and East Nusa Tenggara.
"Replacement population documents were issued to residents affected by the Sumatra disaster, with approximately 59,000 services provided, and 11,225 services were provided to residents affected by the earthquake in NTT," said the Minister of Home Affairs during a Working Meeting and Public Hearing regarding the Adjustment of the Work Plan and Budget of the Ministries/Agencies Partnering with Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Senayan Parliament Complex..
The Minister of Home Affairs explained that as of September 14, 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs' budget realization had reached IDR 4.36 trillion, or 63.54 percent of the total IDR 6.86 trillion budget. While implementing this budget, the Ministry continues to carry out various strategic tasks that directly impact governance and public services in the regions.
One way to do this is by accelerating post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sumatra. As Head of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatra, the Minister of Home Affairs and his staff continue to coordinate, evaluate, and conduct field inspections to ensure the recovery process is on track until 2028.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to control inflation and routinely monitor economic growth. As of August 2026, inflation remained within the government's target range of 2.5 percent plus or minus 1 percent.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also supports a number of the President's priority programs, including the 3 Million Homes Program, waste-to-energy conversion, the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative, People's Schools, and various programs to strengthen development and services in the regions.
In the forum, the Minister of Home Affairs also conveyed the Ministry of Home Affairs' policy direction for 2027, which remains focused on overseeing national priority programs, strengthening regional governance, population administration, digital transformation of government, regional fiscal health, and strengthening the capacity of regional governments and villages.
