The agency reported that a marine tugboat (tucking boat) sailing south was hit by two projectiles of unknown origin.
She added: "The locomotive sustained damage, but it is continuing on its route, and one minor injury was recorded."
The authority urged ships passing through the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities they observe while sailing.
The incident comes a day after a tanker was hit by an unidentified projectile 68 nautical miles northeast of the Saudi city of Jubail in the Gulf.
The authority had announced on September 10 that it had received reports from ship captains who stated that they had received instructions via radio broadcast to leave their ships' mooring locations near Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
