The visitors entered the match in extremely exceptional circumstances, as the Burkina Faso Football Federation was forced to use the Olympic team (under 23 years old) to play the match, after the first team players refused to travel due to financial disputes and poor organization of the trip.

The Burkina Faso youth team delegation arrived in Argentina only six hours before the start of the match, coming from Casablanca on an arduous 11-hour flight.

The home side didn't have to wait long to score, with Lautaro Martinez opening the scoring early in the third minute, following up on a penalty kick he had missed himself.

Burkina Faso defender Moumouni Diallo quickly doubled Argentina's lead with an own goal in the 8th minute, followed by Gianluca Brestiani with the third goal in the 12th minute.

The Tango's offensive onslaught continued, with Nicolas Paz adding the fourth goal in the 35th minute, and Julian Alvarez scoring the fifth goal just one minute later, ending the first half with a score of five goals to nil.

In the second half, Argentina continued to exert absolute control over the course of the game, with Franco Mastantono crowning the "Tango's" superiority with the sixth goal in the 57th minute, before Giuliano Simeone concluded the goal fest in the first minute of stoppage time.

The statistics reflected the huge difference between the two teams, with Argentina's possession reaching 75 percent and a sweeping attack throughout the 90 minutes, compared to a single attempt on goal for the visitors.

Football fans are now turning their attention to the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires, where the Argentine national team will play its next match against Benin next Tuesday, which will witness the farewell ceremony for the legend Lionel Messi from his country's national team jersey.
