The Attorney General's Office's (AGO) Special Task Force for Handling and Settlement of Corruption Crimes is investigating the subsidy mechanism in the alleged rice subsidy corruption case.
"Our investigation is taking a subsidy perspective. Investigators want to understand the business processes behind the subsidy. "There's state money that goes out as a subsidy to the public," said Anang Supriatna, Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office.
In addition, he said, the task force is also investigating a number of subsidies provided by the government in the agricultural sector, ranging from fertilizer subsidies, agricultural machinery and equipment , to seeds.
All of these things were explored by investigators to find out the mechanism for providing subsidies that was implemented.
"Later, we will discuss the business process of this subsidy," he added.
Investigators at the P3TPK Task Force have summoned six rice producers, the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), and the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) since Monday (28/7) to ask for clarification on the data they have.
Anang also said that investigators continue to coordinate with various parties, one of which is the National Police Headquarters, which is also investigating the case of rice producers allegedly violating quality standards.
"What is clear is that going forward, we will coordinate with both the National Police and the Indonesian National Armed Forces," he said.
This investigation is a follow-up by the Attorney General's Office to President Prabowo Subianto's instructions, who ordered Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to take action against rice adulteration.
