The Chisholm Group, owned by William Chisholm, has officially taken over majority ownership of the Boston Celtics, after the NBA Board of Governors gave full approval to the acquisition.
According to the NBA website, quoted in Jakarta on Tuesday, following the acquisition, Chisholm will serve as Governor of the Boston Celtics, while Wyc Grousbeck and Aditya Mittal will act as alternate governors .
"This is truly a dream come true for me and my family, as we feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this investor group of successful individuals who care deeply about the Celtics and the Boston community," Chisholm said.
He explained that Grousbeck will continue to serve as co-owner and chief executive officer (CEO), overseeing the team's daily operations, alongside Chisholm and the existing management team.
The middle-aged man admitted that reaching the agreement on the change of ownership was a dream come true.
Because, he was born and raised in the Boston area and is a lifelong Celtics fan.
