Tropical Storm Aletta emerges in the Pacific; it is expected to move away from Mexico.


 Tropical Storm Aletta formed yesterday afternoon in the Pacific Ocean from Tropical Depression 1-E, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported.

According to the National Water Commission (Conagua), 'Aletta' is located 475 kilometers south of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, and with it brought maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour.

The phenomenon will generate heavy rainfall, high waves, and strong wind gusts in Jalisco, Colima, and Michoacán; however, it will move away from the Mexican coast this Friday.

At 6 p.m. yesterday, the storm was located 340 kilometers southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, and 320 kilometers southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, moving northwest at 17 kilometers per hour, with sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of 85 kilometers per hour.
