Mexico City, April 20.- The multimillion-dollar advertising campaign criminalizing undocumented migrants—launched by the Donald Trump administration—has been airing on Mexican broadcast television for several days.
Televisa has aired a prime-time spot featuring U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, who warns: "If you're a foreign criminal considering entering the United States illegally, don't even think about it."

This ad gained notoriety because it aired during halftime of the Liga MX game between América (a club owned by Televisa) and Mazatlán on Channel 5, a San Ángel-based channel. However, it has been running for several days—at least since April 3—during primetime on that network, including Channels 2 (the main channel) and 9.
It's a 30-second message and a shortened version of the original, just over a minute long, that has been running as an advertisement on YouTube in Mexico for several weeks.
In the abridged version, the government official—who recently visited Mexico and met with President Claudia Sheinbaum—states: “I am Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States. Thank you, President Donald J. Trump, for securing our border and putting America first.
