Tijuana, January 7. The Tijuana State Public Services Commission (CESPT) began renewing subsidies for drinking water services for people in economically vulnerable situations.
The general director of CESPT, Jesús García Castro, reported that during 2024 they reached 11,700 beneficiaries in Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito .
He mentioned that the beneficiary registry for this program is comprised of individuals requiring priority care, as well as pensioners and retirees whose daily income does not exceed five times the Unit of Measurement and Update (UMA), i.e., 542.85 pesos.
The subsidy consists of a 100 percent exemption from drinking water charges, as long as monthly consumption does not exceed 15 cubic meters. If a person consumes more than the established amount, up to a maximum of 25 cubic meters, the exemption will be 50 percent.
