Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's attention has been recognized by sports federations as a driving factor in the impressive performances of their athletes at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
In addition to providing motivation, President Prabowo's attention was also manifested in increasing bonuses for gold medal winners, which reached double compared to the previous SEA Games edition.
"We are grateful to the President for his commitment to sports, including his concern for the athletes' welfare. Frankly, this is an encouragement for us to create a new chapter in Indonesian futsal history at the SEA Games," said Michael Victor Sianipar, Chairman of the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI), as quoted in a written statement.
The Indonesian contingent finished second in the final standings at the 2025 SEA Games, with 91 gold medals, 111 silver medals, and 131 bronze medals. In addition to exceeding the target of 80 gold medals, this gold medal haul also marked Indonesia's third-highest haul at an away SEA Games.
