Belgium: Jordan Bardella strengthens his ties with Vlaams Belang during a visit to Brussels

Jordan Bardella traveled to Brussels on June 11 to strengthen his ties with the Flemish nationalist party Vlaams Belang. Speaking in the Flemish Parliament, he called for increased cooperation between parties sharing similar positions on migration and asylum policy, arguing that coordinated action could help reshape decision-making processes within the European Union. The Brussels event drew supporters, but also several hundred protesters gathered outside the Parliament building. Opponents denounced positions they consider contrary to equal rights and democratic principles. This Belgian stop is part of a series of trips undertaken in recent months across Europe, notably to Portugal and Italy. It reflects the desire of nationalist parties to strengthen their influence on European debates related to immigration, the environmental transition, and the future political direction of the European Union.
