Morocco's national team coach, Mohamed Wahbi, reassured Moroccan fans about Noussair Mazraoui's health, confirming that the player is fine and that his participation in the match against Brazil remains dependent on the assessment that will be carried out by the medical staff.
The Moroccan national team will begin its journey in the 2026 World Cup with a fiery encounter against Brazil on Saturday evening (Moroccan time), at the MetLife Stadium in New York. Then it will meet Scotland on June 19 in Boston, and conclude its group stage matches with a match against Haiti five days later in Atlanta.
Wahbi explained during the press conference preceding the anticipated match against Brazil that Mazraoui trained normally with the group, considering his presence in training a positive indicator of his readiness. He emphasized that the final decision regarding his participation will be made after the last training session and assessing the readiness of all players nominated to play in the match.
The Moroccan coach stated that all members of the national team are in good condition, noting that the group is preparing for the match in suitable conditions, and that all players are ready to answer the call of the national team.
Mazraoui was injured during the last friendly match against Norway and was unable to complete the game.
