Deputy Minister of Forestry Sulaiman Umar Shiddiq said that agroforestry agricultural products resulting from forest and land rehabilitation (RHL) activities are part of green economic activities.
"RHL is not just a planting activity, but is part of a green economy, resulting from successful planting activities that produce economic commodities that can improve food, energy, and water security," said Deputy Minister of Forestry Sulaiman in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
Furthermore, he said that RHL is also an implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 14 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of National Food, Energy, and Water Self-Sufficiency Areas.
This, he continued, is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita Number 2, namely strengthening the country's defense and security system and encouraging national independence through self-sufficiency in food, energy, water, the creative economy, the green economy, and the blue economy.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Forestry also emphasized the need to develop strategies to strengthen the RHL program's achievements. First, improve the quality of RHL regulations and policies; then strengthen synergy and collaboration with various parties.
"Next, we need to strengthen the institutional framework of RHL implementing groups; optimize the utilization of RHL financing potential; and utilize information technology and expand work networks to strengthen the success and marketing of RHL products," Sulaiman said.
