Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the adjustment to BPJS Kesehatan contribution rates is aimed at maintaining the sustainability of the program.
"The sustainability of the National Health Insurance (JKN) will depend heavily on the benefits provided to participants. The greater the benefits, the greater the costs," Sri Mulyani said at a working meeting with the House of Representatives' Budget Committee.
With tariff adjustments, Sri Mulyani said, the number of Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI) could also be increased.
However, the government will also continue to pay attention to the capabilities of independent participants.
