Tijuana, August 20. The National Electoral Institute (INE) reported that in Baja California, 103,902 credentials ending in 2024 lost their validity on June 2, and as of August 2, a total of 78,928 citizens had not yet completed the renewal process.
At the municipal level, the largest number of people who have not renewed their ID is in Tijuana (42,070), followed by Mexicali (19,927), Ensenada (9,585), Playas de Rosarito (2,878), Tecate (2,203), San Quintín (1,628) and San Felipe (637).
The INE invited people to go to the Citizen Service Modules to complete the corresponding procedure.
The documents required are a birth certificate, official photo ID, an expired National Electoral Institute (INE), and proof of residence no older than three months.
