PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is distributing domestically produced Pertamina Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) made from used cooking oil as a fuel, as part of its efforts to support the net zero emission ( NZE) target by 2060.
Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Mars Ega Legowo Putra, in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday, said that the inaugural flight using Pertamina SAF fuel made from used cooking oil (UCO), distributed by Pertamina, received full appreciation from the government.
The commercial flight with Pelita Air and the Jakarta-Bali route took off on Wednesday (20/8/2025) from Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Banten, and became a historic moment and marked Indonesia's position in sustainable fuel innovation.
Mars Ega said that Pertamina Patra Niaga, as the person in charge of distributing fuel in the country, ensures that the distribution of Pertamina SAF runs smoothly.
According to him, his party also plays a role in providing the main raw material for SAF, namely used cooking oil collected from the community.
This effort not only strengthens the sustainable energy ecosystem but also encourages active community participation, thus creating a circular economy that can increase economic added value.
"We are ensuring that Pertamina SAF distribution runs smoothly so that this inaugural flight can proceed smoothly. Furthermore, the SAF raw material comes from used cooking oil collected by the community, from restaurants, households, and small businesses.
