Indonesia lost 1-2 to Thailand in BJK Cup Group I

 

  The Indonesian women's national tennis team suffered a 1-2 defeat to Thailand in the Billie Jean King Cup (BJK) Group I Asia Oceania match held in New Delhi on Saturday.

Despite losing the match against Thailand, Indonesia still has the right to qualify for the playoff qualifiers which will take place in November because Indonesia is the leader of Group I Asia Oceania with four wins and one loss.

In the first singles match, Indonesian representative Priska Madelyn Nugroho faced Thasaporn Naklo. However, the match lasted only 25 minutes as Priska had to retire while leading 3-2.

The Thai team took the lead 1-0.

Another Indonesian women's singles player, Janice Tjen, played in the second match. The world number 41 player had no trouble against Anchisa Chanta, ranked 442nd, winning the match, which lasted 1 hour and 35 minutes, 6-2, 6-4.

The score then became a draw at 1-1.

The Indonesian team fielded two young tennis players in the doubles match, namely the pair Anjali Kirana Junarto/Meydiana Laviola Reinnamah to face Thailand's representatives Anchisa Chanta/Patcharin Cheapchandej.

In the match that lasted for 1 hour and 5 minutes, Anchisa/Pathcarin managed to defeat the Indonesian pair in two straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
