Two Palestinians, including a child, were killed by Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, raising concerns about the collapse of the health sector

A medical source reported that the child Ali Hossam Al-Masri (17 years old) was killed by Israeli occupation army fire in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, and his body arrived at Al-Shifa Hospital, west of Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses said: "The occupation forces targeted a group of Palestinians with gunfire in an area outside their deployment zone according to the agreement."
In a related context, a Palestinian was seriously injured as a result of a bombing carried out by an Israeli army drone with two missiles targeting a tent of displaced people in the Al-Masha’la area, southwest of Deir al-Balah, while a child was injured by Israeli gunfire near the Al-Mazra’ roundabout, southeast of Al-Bureij camp.
Six Palestinians were killed at dawn on Saturday in a drone strike that targeted a gathering of civilians in the Bureij camp, in addition to three others being injured in a similar strike that targeted a tent of displaced people in the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, according to the same source.
This coincided with artillery shelling and gunfire by the occupation army on the eastern areas of Gaza City, in addition to shelling from warships off the coast.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned these attacks and called on the international community to take action to provide protection for Palestinians, impose sanctions on the occupation, and activate international accountability mechanisms.
In a related context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the shutdown of one of the main generators at Nasser Medical Complex in the southern Gaza Strip due to a shortage of oil, stressing that relying on less powerful generators is not a solution, but rather complicates the situation in light of the great pressure resulting from the number of patients and wounded.
The ministry warned that the continued shortage of fuel, oils and spare parts could lead to the failure of alternative solutions and exacerbate the crisis, noting that the monthly need of hospitals is 2,500 liters of oil, in light of almost complete reliance on generators due to power outages.
In light of these conditions, dozens of kidney patients organized a protest at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, demanding to travel abroad for treatment, as the participants stressed that thousands of patients have been waiting for medical referrals for many months.
Patient Omar al-Banna said: "We are waiting for death day after day in light of the closure of the crossings and the lack of resources," appealing to Arab countries for "urgent intervention to facilitate the travel of patients and their reception for treatment, given the lack of options within the Gaza Strip due to the repercussions of the Israeli genocide."
While patient Ilham Al-Khatib confirmed that kidney patients face the risk of death daily, Suhad Ali pointed to her suffering after losing her home and the lack of medicines and food.
This comes amid an unprecedented humanitarian and health crisis in the Gaza Strip since the start of the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation army on October 8, 2023, which has left widespread destruction of infrastructure, including hospitals and medical facilities, and exacerbated the suffering of civilians in the besieged sector.

Despite the ceasefire agreement in Gaza being in effect since October 10, Israel has not adhered to the humanitarian protocol regarding the humanitarian aspect and the movement of sick and wounded people to leave for treatment abroad, and has only allowed the entry of meager quantities of humanitarian aid.

On a daily basis, the Israeli occupation army commits violations of the ceasefire agreement by bombing and shooting, which has resulted in the martyrdom of 749 Palestinians and the injury of 2082 since it came into effect.

The Israeli genocide resulted in the martyrdom of more than 72,000 Palestinians, most of them children and women, and more than 172,000 wounded, and widespread destruction affecting 90% of the infrastructure.
