Manchester City star Erling Haaland expressed his great happiness at participating in the World Cup for the first time in his football career with the Norwegian national team.
Haaland is preparing to participate with the Norwegian national team in the World Cup, where the descendants of the Vikings are in Group Nine alongside Iraq, France and Senegal.
Norway qualified for the World Cup after Haaland and his teammates delivered an exceptional qualifying campaign and managed to qualify for the competition at the expense of Italy.
Haaland told the Daily Mail about participating in the World Cup: "It's an incredible feeling, something I've always dreamed of. I grew up like any other fan at home with friends and family watching TV. Now it's different because I'm here and I'll be part of the national team. This is what one dreams of."
Haaland emphasized his confidence in the strength of the current Norwegian squad, adding: "We have a great group of players who have been through a lot together, so we know each other well and enjoy playing together. This is important. The Norwegian national team has not qualified for the World Cup for a long time, so the opportunity to represent your country in the World Cup is something special, and this is what any player wishes for. People expect a lot from us and from me, and this is normal. I just focus on my job and try to do my best."
Norway will play against Iraq in the first round of group stage matches of the World Cup, on Wednesday, June 17, at 1 AM Cairo, Saudi Arabia and Iraq time.
