Search for missing persons from other states in rehabilitation centers in Mexicali

Mexicali, February 21. At the request of the families of 15 missing persons from the States of Mexico, Guerrero, and Jalisco, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) led a search operation in rehabilitation centers and shelters in Mexicali.

The investigation was supported by the National Search Commission, the Baja California Local Commission for the Search for Persons, the Municipal Search Unit, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), and the State Secretariat of Citizen Security.

The coordinator of the Municipal Search Unit, Alfredo Hernández, reported that these were urgent actions initiated by families of missing persons at the federal level.

"Given the lack of attention to these cases at the state level, family members are seeking federal jurisdiction, and that's how these proceedings are carried out," he said.

"We saw people saying they had seen them , but it was the federal authorities who gathered the information," Hernández said.

The FGE reported that the operation was carried out with the objective of obtaining information that would facilitate the location of Juan David Morales Méndez , 26, and Porfirio Adrián Gálvez Pérez , 19, both originally from the State of Mexico.

During the proceedings, posters were distributed at strategic points in the Xochimilco, Solidaridad, Río Nuevo, and Primera Sección neighborhoods, in places such as the Uredi breakfast bar, the Migrant House, and the Community Dining Hall.
