Tijuana, December 18. Food, clothing, and blankets were distributed to homeless people and migrants during the "Shocking December" event, held on 5 de Mayo Avenue in Tijuana's North Zone.
Juan Alberto Figueroa, director of the Changing Hearts Foundation, noted that this event is held annually and its main objective is to reach out to people who are spending the night on the streets, but its location allows them to also help migrants.
He indicated that the group arrives prepared to serve nearly 400 people . They also bring toys for the children who come.
Regarding whether the arrival of migrants has increased, he considered it a continuing and increasingly serious problem, but with the CBP One app, which allows for scheduling appointments to request asylum in the United States, immigration has been brought into order.
