The shape of a mole can be a warning sign indicating melanoma, a type of skin cancer.
Skin cancer often starts as something seemingly benign, a new lump that looks like a mole, a rough or scabby spot, a sore that doesn't heal, or a spot that changes shape or color, sometimes itchy or painful, as quoted by the Medical Daily page, on Monday (12/5).
Although the warning signs are often subtle, if detected early the five-year survival rate for melanoma can be as high as 99 percent.
