  Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Banyu Biru Djarot, highlighted the introduction of the Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center (ICDEC) by Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita as a strategic step in developing future industries.

Banyu Biru, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, emphasized the importance of incentive support for key sectors.

"On the point of strengthening the ICDEC Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center introduced by the Minister of Industry, I emphasized incentives for the semiconductor industry, AI (artificial intelligence), cloud infrastructure, and the development of downstream rare earth metals," he said at a working meeting (raker) of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) with the Minister of Industry at the parliamentary complex, Jakarta, Monday (26/1).

According to him, the direction of national industrial policy is on the right track.

"I think the direction is very good, from the digital economy to the intelligence economy ," he said.

He also referred to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's hype theory as a framework for developing a high-tech industrial ecosystem.

"Jensen Huang's hype theory from NVIDIA has five points, covering what the energy is like, the chip , what the AI ​​model is like, cloud infrastructure, and what the apps are like," explained Banyu Biru.

In addition, he also appreciated the involvement of the world of education in the development of ICDEC.

"I also appreciate the 16 campuses and universities participating in the development of ICDEC. According to data from the Ministry of Creative Economy, the 2025 investment and budget support for apps has reached over IDR 40 trillion. The potential is extraordinary," he said.
